Where Gluerangutan comes from
Gluerangutan traces to the Harambe line: OG Kush (compact bud structure, earthy, spicy, citrus terpenes), GG4 (the caryophyllene backbone and resin density it is named for) and Afghani Hash Plant (trichome density and a high calyx-to-leaf ratio). GOOD BUDS selected it from 150,000 plants grown in 2019, then backcrossed the cut over three seasons until it stabilised.
The aroma is spice, pine and citrus. Trans-caryophyllene is the dominant terpene, with alpha-humulene, limonene, fenchol and linalool behind it. Whole flower tests 3.6 to 4.8% total terpenes, the highest in the GOOD BUDS portfolio, with THC in the 28 to 32% range. It is sun-grown on Salt Spring Island in living soil, with no grow lights or climate control, and irrigated with rainwater collected on the farm.

GG4 is one of Gluerangutan's three parents, and the two share a resinous, sticky character. GG4 is typically caryophyllene and myrcene led (earthy and dank), while Gluerangutan layers in humulene and limonene for a spicier, more citrus profile. Gluerangutan also finishes outdoors in mid-September, several weeks earlier than GG4, which is what makes the line viable for sun-grown cultivation in BC.
